Scirpus are not grasses, they are perennial sedges
Forms an open upright clump of dark green leaves branching from the main stems
Dark green culms, reaching 125 cm, develop clusters of inflorescences
Spikelets form small rounded clusters on the terminal tips
Foliage turns yellow to brown in the fall

Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows in marshes, along pond shorelines, and in bogs, in full sun to light shade. This sedge spreads by rhizomes and can be grown in water up to 1.5 m deep.
