  • Scirpus are not grasses, they are perennial sedges
  • Forms an open upright clump of dark green leaves branching from the main stems
  • Dark green culms, reaching 125 cm, develop clusters of inflorescences
  • Spikelets form small rounded clusters on the terminal tips
  • Foliage turns yellow to brown in the fall
  • Bloom Time: June to August

Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Grows in marshes, along pond shorelines, and in bogs, in full sun to light shade. This sedge spreads by rhizomes and can be grown in water up to 1.5 m deep.
