Growing and Maintenance Tips:


A good lawn specimen with its white flowers followed by showy berries. Showy mountainash can tolerate different levels of soil moisture and some shade.

Additional Notes about Showy Mountainash:


Native to Ontario and parts of North America.

Birds love to eat the berries from showy mountainash, especially in the winter when other foods are hard to find. 

Mountain ash has ash-like leaves, but are members of the rose family, and are not related to true ash (Fraxinus of the olive family). Sorbus are not a host plant of emerald ash borer (Agrilus planipennis).
