Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Osmunda grows best in a moist to average soil, in partial to full shade. They need constant moisture, do not like to dry out and are most commonly found in waterlogged or swampy areas.

Additional Notes about Cinnamon Fern:

Native to Ontario

Birds such as hummingbirds and warblers seek the woolly fuzz as nesting material. The foliage provides effective cover for various small animals. While not preferred, when desperate, deer, grouse and rabbits may browse the foliage in winter.
