Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows best in marshes or along a pond's edge in full sun or light shade. Can be grown on floodplains, however, in the garden it likes consistently moist conditions; some stems will brown if the soil dries out. Spreads by rhizomes but is slow to establish. Foliage can be pruned down in early spring for a tidier appearance and so new growth can emerge through the old stems.
