Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Best grown in wet, boggy, acidic, sandy soils, in full sun.  Use in a water garden, along streams or ponds or low-lying areas. May be grown in borders as long as the soil is kept uniformly moist. 

Additional Notes about Pale Blue Flag Iris:


Native to Ontario

Larval host to native moths including the Virginia Ctenucha moth. The flowers attract native bees and butterflies; hummingbirds seek nectar. The plant helps filter pollutants in wetlands.

While beneficial to biodiversity, if ingested, the foliage is toxic to human beings and livestock.
