Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Autumn olive is best grown in a dry, almost sandy soil, and will tolerate high pH and sites where salt may be a problem. May need some pruning to prevent thicket-like growth.

Grow Me Instead recommends Hamamelis virginiana or Cornus sericea as possible alternates.

This plant is a natural nitrogen fixer, so it can survive in almost any soil.
