Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Shining willow grows best in a moist soil and is suitable for wetland edges or riverbanks.

Native to Ontario

First Nations used it to treat toothaches, stomach aches, dysentery and dandruff. They used the stems for basketry, bow making and the bark for tea and fabric making.

A favourite browse for deer, mouse, elk, beaver and mice. They are also an important habitat for migrating wildlife fowl.
