Additional Notes about Beebalm:

Native to Ontario

Larval host for moths. The flowers are attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, and native bees will visit as well. In winter, the dried seedheads feed small songbirds.

The common name: Bergamot is somewhat misleading. Though teas can be made from Monarda leaves, the Bergamot in Earl Grey Tea is derived from an oil extracted from the rind of Citrus bergamia, a citrus native to Southeast Asia.
