Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Thrives in full sun to partial shade, and in a moist to average soil. Relatively easy to grow and will adapt to a wide range of conditions including drought and summer heat. Naturally found on flood plains, along woodland edges and in moist, open fields. Self-seeds aggressively.

Native to Ontario

Many bee species visit False Sunflower, but one species is a specialist: Ground Nesting Bee visits Heliopsis helianthoides almost exclusively. Seed production feeds small birds, and the foliage supports moth and butterfly larvae.
