Blueberry plants grow best in a well-drained, acidic moist soil, in full sun or partial shade. Most varieties require cross-pollination from another cultivar, but even for self-pollinating varieties fruit size and yield is improved by cross-pollination. After fruiting, prune out any branches more than 3 years old, to ensure subsequent fruit production.
