Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Full sun is preferred, but  tolerant of many soils and conditions. Legume, so it fixes atmospheric nitrogen.

Native to Ontario.

Flowers are frequented by long-tongued bees. Foliage is browsed by deer, groundhogs, rabbits and livestock. 

All parts of the plant are toxic, and the plant has the ability to absorb external toxins like pesticides and herbicides.
