Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows best in an acidic, moist to damp soil. Avoid planting in heavy clay. Will tolerate wetter soils than most other firs, and as it breaks bud later in the season it is somewhat resistant to spring frost damage.

This species is native to small pockets within the mountains of West Virginia and Virginia.
