Growing and Maintenance Tips:

This cultivar of sambucus colonizes less vigorously than others and is easily mistaken for a cutleaf Japanese maple. Though it thrives in a moist soil, it will tolerate many soils and conditions and will become more drought tolerant with age. Its fruit is edible if cooked. Uncooked berries may induce illness.
