All parts of this plant are poisonous. Touching the plant is not a problem. Ingesting berries, flowers, or leaves can lead to skin photosensitivity.
Larval host for at least 20 species of butterflies and moths, including Wavy-lined Emerald Moth. The flowers attract many native insects, and the seeds are enjoyed by birds.
