Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows best in an average to consistently moist, well-drained soil, in full to partial shade. Do not prune to the ground in fall as the leaves nourish the plant during the winter months and provide added winter protection. Slow to establish and does not like to be transplanted once it reaches its maturity.

Additional Notes about Round-lobed Hepatica:

Native to Ontario and most of Eastern North America.

Leaves are toxic.

To protect their pollen, the flowers close during the night, and even on dark days.
