Growing and Maintenance Tips:

An aggressive perennial when planted in optimal conditions. Thrives in a rich, moist, organic soil, however, it can tolerate drier conditions when more shade is provided. Rhizomes can be divided in early spring.

Additional Notes about Canada Anemone:

Native to Ontario

Larval host for moths, while the pollen produced by the flowers support native bees and other pollinators. The foliage is not usually browsed by animals, since it contains toxins.

Fresh sap may cause skin inflammation and blistering on sensitive skin, and if ingested, can adversely affect the stomach and/or the heart.
