 An understorey tree, it grows best when planted in shade, in a moist but well-drained soil.

Additional Notes about Yellow Buckeye:


Native to Northeastern US.

The fruit produced by A. flava, initially encased by a 5-7cm husk, is toxic unless first roasted and then soaked in water.
