Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Plant in full sun, in a rich, moist, slightly acidic soil. Removing spent flowers will help prevent unwanted seeding. 

Additional Notes about New York Ironweed:


The common name is derived from its "iron-like" qualities including tough stems, the rusty-tinged colour of fading flowers and the rusty-coloured seeds. 

'Almost native' to our place in Ontario.
