Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Rhus typhina grows best in a slightly acidic, fertile soil and full sun, however, it will tolerate dry or compacted soils and other urban conditions. They do not like a poorly drained soil.

Berries are traditionally used by indigenous peoples to make a tart, lemonade-like beverage rich in vitamin C. The dried berries can be ground and used as a spice in dishes.
