Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Onoclea grows best in a moist soil, in partial to full shade. With constant moisture, they will also grow in full sun. They can be found in swamps, open meadows, and open woods.

Additional Notes about Sensitive Fern:

Native to Ontario

Larval host plant for several native moths. The foliage provides cover for various small wildlife, and shade (cooling) for the forest floor. In the wild, desperate turkeys may browse the foliage in winter.
