Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Quince prefer acidic soil; although chlorosis may occur in alkaline soils, they can tolerate up to a pH of 8.  Tolerate many conditions, including drought.  Avoid hard pruning, except to remove suckers.

Additional Notes about Japanese Quince:


Toyo Nishiki can be an interesting bonsai.  While the raw fruit is hard and mealy, the cooked fruit is sweet, tender, and releases a wonderful scent.
