Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Red maples thrive on a wide range of soil types, tolerate more moisture, pH and elevation than any other forest species in North America.

Additional Notes about Red Maple:

Native to Ontario and other parts of North America.  An important food source for many small mammals and native invertebrates.  Larval stage host to the Cecropia moth.

In autumn, the bright red leaves make a striking contrast against dark-coloured evergreens or the white bark and yellow foliage of birches. It can be grown as a specimen tree or multi-stemmed plant.
