Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Typically grown as a hedge, this cedar can also be used in groupings for windscreens. Tolerates a wide range of soils, however, it does best in moist, humid conditions and mulching is recommended for the root zones. Do not heap mulch against the stems. If planted in the summer or fall, protection (burlap wrap) from drying winter winds is recommended for the first season.

Additional Notes about Degroot's Spire Cedar:

Benefits from watering well in the fall and during prolonged winter dryness. Deer find the soft evergreen foliage very attractive for winter food and will rapidly strip a plant.
