Black Tower will thrive in full sun to partial shade. Adaptable to many conditions, even some standing water and urban environments. Stems are weak-wooded.
All parts of the plant are toxic to pets and livestock. But because of the distinctive odour of the leaves, animals tend to avoid it.
The berries, high in antioxidants, are edible only if cooked. Uncooked berries can induce illness.
