Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Rhododendrons require constant moisture (but not standing water), a fertile soil with a low pH and grow best in partial shade. Any pruning should be done soon after flowering to ensure bud set. Plants can benefit from protection (burlap wrap) against drying winter winds and sun in an exposed location.

Additional Notes about Nova Zembla Rhododendron:

'Nova Zembla' (means 'new land' in Russian) was hybridized and introduced by M. Koster & Sons, Holland in 1902.

Seed Parent and Pollen Parent: Parsons Grandiflorum x hardy red hybrid

Predominant Flower Colour: Red
