Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows best in full or partial shade, and tolerates a range of soil types. Rake in late winter or early spring to make room for new growth. Plants should be divided in the spring every few years, to keep the plant contained and supporting healthy new growth. Self-seeds easily: prune seedheads as they appear.

Additional Notes about Wood Millet:

Cool Season Grasses: These grasses do the majority of their growing in early spring and start again when temperatures start to cool in the fall. During the warmer summer months, they stop growing and some will even go dormant. Cool season grasses flower in the spring or early summer. Most cool season grasses grow best in a consistently moist soil.
