Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows best in an average to moist soil, in full sun. Drought tolerant, once established. Anaphalis needs room to spread and should be divided every 3-4 years to avoid centre dieback. Tolerates nutrient-deficient soils.

Additional Notes about Pearly Everlasting:

Native to Ontario.

Larval host for American Lady and Painted Lady Butterflies and Everlasting Tebenna Moth. The flowers are rich in nectar and pollen, feeding butterflies, skippers, bees and other insects, and the seeds feed birds.

Supports a specialist bee, Melissodes microstictus.

Leaves are edible when cooked.
