Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Plant is full sun or partial shade, where protection from the hot afternoon sun is available. They will adapt to a wide range of sites including poor ones, however, avoid wet soils in the winter. Pruning on a regular basis will encourage new leaf growth, (which have the best fragrance), minimize self-seeding and keep the plant tidy. 

Additional Notes about Lemon Balm:


Leaves are edible and used to flavour salads, soups, sauces, and vegetables. They are also used to flavour teas and when dried can be added to sachets and potpourri. Historically they were used to aid in the treatment of inter alia, calming nervous disorders, soothing insect bites and treating colds.
