Native to BC and Alaska

Also found in some coastal areas of North-Eastern states. Native Americans, especially in Alaska, ate the leaves raw or cooked, or as a seasoning for meat or fish. All parts of the plant are edible.

A host plant for swallowtail butterflies. Leave it standing for the whole season.
