Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Any pruning to maintain size and shape on this woody perennial should be done in the winter or early spring to ensure next season's flowering. Fast growing, it will reach 125 cm in time for late summer flowering. In Hamilton, it can be coppiced every spring.

Additional Notes about Shrub Bush Clover:

Densely rooted, this plant and its cousin, L. bicolor, was used as erosion control in the Southern U.S. and has become invasive there and in other places.

Although the roots are winter hardy to USDA Zone 6, the top growth will die to the ground in hard winters.
