  • Larger globes and a more intense blue than the species
  • Deep metallic-blue, spiky flowers on sturdy stems
  • Gray-green foliage is covered in cobweb-like hair
  • Basal leaves, 15-20 cm long, with silvery undersides
  • Bloom Time: July to September
  • Flower Height: 125 cm

Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Grows best in an average to moist, well-drained soil in full sun. It will adapt to a wide range of soils and moisture. Deadhead to encourage new blooms and prevent self-seeding.

Additional Notes about Globe Thistle:


Invasive in Ontario. Not yet on 'invasives' lists, but by observation of people in the know.
