Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Preferring full sun or partial shade, in the wild, these plants are usually found near forest edges. In the landscape, do not prune back immediately after the flowers fade, as blossoms leave behind unique woolly seed heads that remain for the summer. However, the plants are self-seeding. Remove them at the right time if you want to prevent self-seeding.

Additional Notes about Tall Thimbleweed:

Native to Ontario and most of the southern half of Canada.

Supports native bees by providing protein in the form of pollen. Woolly seed heads provide soft nesting material.

Anemones are toxic when ingested and can cause skin irritation.
