Forming a mounded, umbrella-like crown, this weeping cultivar adds visual interest both in the summer and winter. Fruiting mulberry have edible berries that are attractive to birds, however, the fruit litter on the ground can be quite messy. Plant in an area of the landscape where foot traffic will not bring fruit stains into the home. To avoid this, plant a non-fruiting cultivar.
The leaves of mulberry have been used in China since at least 2600 B.C. as the primary diet for silkworms.
