  • Clusters of pale green star-shaped flowers with maroon margins
  • Above the flowers rests a cluster of leafy green bracts giving it the appearance of a pineapple
  • Thick, stocky stems with purple-speckled markings
  • Wavy oval basal leaves, up to 50 cm long
  • The underside of the leaf may also have purple speckles
  • Bloom Time: Late summer

Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Best grown in a fertile, humus, rich, well-drained soil, in full sun. Recommended for container planters (in Zone 5). Must be overwintered in a frost-free, dry environment.
