  • Strong stems with numerous prickly steel-blue flowers clustered on one branch
  • Flowers are much smaller than the common sea holly
  • Smooth leaves are dark green, deeply toothed, and stay very low and compact

Growing and Maintenance Tips:


Grows best in a dry, sandy, well-drained soil, in full sun. Has a large taproot and once established, does not like to be moved. Eryngium may need staking and lose some of their colour if planted in soils that are too fertile or shady.
