'Korean Sun' has a smaller mature size than the species, making it a suitable option where space is an issue.

Additional Notes about Korean Sun™ Pear:


Although Korean Sun may be self-infertile, in the presence of other compatible Pyrus varieties, they can produce viable seed which is easily distributed by birds. Thus they can squeeze out native flora and reduce biodiversity. Unfortunately, P. calleryana cvs. fit into that category.

Consider other spring-flowering trees: Amelanchier spp, Cercis canadensis, Viburnum lentago, Cornus racemosa.
