Growing and Maintenance Tips:

Grows best in an average to consistently moist, well-drained soil, in full to partial shade. Do not prune to the ground in the fall as the leaves nourish the plant during the winter months, and provide added winter protection. Slow to establish and does not like to be transplanted once it reaches its maturity.
